What is the importance of getting pre-approved for a mortgage? How do you go about getting pre-approved?
One of the most important things you can do as a buyer is to get pre-approved by a lender. Some sellers will not even talk to you if you are not pre-approved. Most of the time the sellers will not even let us show you the property if you are not pre-approved. Not being pre-approved by a lender is taken by some sellers to mean that you are not that serious about buying. If you have a Bank or other lender you are use to doing business with contact the home loan department and let them know you want to get pre-approved so you know what to expect and what you are dealing with as far as price, payments, and interest. If you do not have your own lender or just want to shop some lenders I would be happy to give you some names of lenders to try.
